The 74HC165D CMOS 8-Bit Parallel-In Serial-Out (PISO) Shift Register by ON Semiconductor is a high-speed CMOS logic IC designed for expanding digital input capability in microcontroller-based systems. It allows parallel loading of 8 digital inputs and serial data output using a clock signal, making it ideal for GPIO expansion applications.
This IC is widely used in embedded systems, industrial automation, keypad interfacing, LED input monitoring, and microcontroller projects using ESP32, Arduino, STM32, Raspberry Pi, and other development platforms.
With low power consumption, high noise immunity, and fast switching performance, the 74HC165D is perfect for compact PCB designs where digital input expansion is required.
